Nobody knows I self harm and i've been at it for over a year now, yesterday my sister's boyfriend Tommy said something a little bit weird to me.
"what have you done to your wrists? why are you wearing sweatbands all the time? do you hurt youself?" I lied. then last week my mum said something weird.
me-"i feel weird without my jacket on i'm going to put it back on"
mum:"why? have you been slitting your arms to peices??!!" yet again I lied and she brought it.

wtf!!???

I imagine that they're just asking and being curious because they care and are scared. Try to hide the best you can without making it obvious, I guess. :/ I hope everything turn out okay. <3

try some long sleeved shirts, £2.94 each in primark. just try to conceal them best as possible, arm warmers too maybe. say you've feel over if people happen to catch a glimpse of them accidentily.

Stage i'm at, anyone asks i tell them, anyone makes a joke about i get really defensive and confront them. I support Selfharm (as a cause) mmore than anything and WONT have it for people to take the piss.

First : Don't say c**t. :)

Anyway, I agree. You need to tell someone, especially someone as close to you as your mother.

Ya I agree with Aaron.... You should tell your mom, I told my dad bout it and now things are much easier for me because I don't have to worry about trying to hide the scars from him anymore.

I get the same as you Lucie, it makes me wonder if they do actually know... I don't think so though... I never do my arms. Too visible. Saying that though, I have done three on my left hand. =/ all three scarred, yet the ones on my hip that I WANTED to scar are beginning to fade :(
Telling them is better in the long run, even though I know I havn't but I know it is better. I just need that courage yet to do so.

Tell. They are showing they are concerned, so here is your que to get help. They care. Take advantage of it. It'll be hard, but you can get help. You can stop, and it'll be easier with their support. In order to get that they need to know.

Its so easy for people to jump on that bandwagon, "tell them, tell them" this isn't always possible straight up, but it should be your ultimate goal. Everyone seems to say the same thing, "it's the right thing to do, but i cant do it". Keep wearing the long sleeve shirts and try not to be uncomfortable when people joke because they don't understand. But in saying this your ultimate goal needs to be to gain that courage to get help, and family are the best place to start... without help it wont get better
