Huh?
It isn't the Nigerian governments fault that Shell have done this to part of their country.

What I basically said was with a little money, African governments seem not to care about stuff.
I mean, if the government really wanted to, I am sure it could step in and intervene but with it getting money from shell somehow, I think that shows why they havent done anything

The Nigerian Government is easily corruptable.
Most african nations are.

Holy shit, what assholes.
I can't believe what the world has come to. All this corruption. Yes, I know there has always been corruption in the world, but this drags it to a whole new level. Something needs to be done about Shell's greed. I can't believe that they don't care that they destroyed a whole ecosystem, basically.

They share the blame
All oil companies are garbage
Don't lul yourself into thinking if you don't go to Shell you're okay

The difference between this and the tar sands in Alberta is that this is directly affecting the residents of the Niger Delta by polluting their drinking water and ruining a large majority of their food resources.

You know very little about northern alberta
There actually are allot of people getting sick
mysterious "illnesses"
The Athabasca River a main source of water for allot of people in Alberta is being horribly damaged
the toll on wildlife is mind numbing in one night alone over 50,000 birds died after landing in one of the massive gross waste water ponds they have
And like I stated previously there are many countries and millions of people that are dealing with the after effects of either oil or gas wells
like Indonesia an entire town swallowed up by mud, the cause? a gas well that drilled right into a "mud volcano"

I suggest you watch "Children of the Mud"
