Hello. I'm 16, and I just discovered that I have an undescended testicle that somehow went unnoticed until now. How should I tell my parents?
But what really scares me is what'll happen if I do anything about it. I'm too far past the age for hormone injections, so my only choice is surgery. Now the thing is, I've been reading up on this, and if I got it done, they'd remove the nut and I'd be sterile, but it would eliminate my risk for testicular cancer.
It's kind of a tough choice for me. Do I eliminate my ability to have kids just to get rid of the risk of testicular cancer, or do I keep that risk? I've been looking for some kind of surgery that wouldn't make me sterile and still remove the risk, but nothing yet. Is it possible I could get a transplant?

well do to the fact that this is a medical issue yur parents should be the first people yu tell. getting it removed would be yur choice. but i dont think yu would want to have the risk of testicular cancer so i would recomend getting it removed. but that is completly up to yu.

Don't worry, it won't alter your chances of producing children. They will put a prosthetic one in, and your remaining fertile testicle will double it's output to make up for the lost one.
Tell your parents immediately, this is no laughing matter.

There is one problem with your theory. if they remove the undecsended testicle, how would that make you sterile? Since you have 2. Now if they decided to remove both, what the fuck is wrong with them?
and i dont think your odds of getting testicular cancer are really high, and if you do testicular exams once a month (on your remaining teste) then early detection would give you an over 90% survival rate.

Yeah I don't understand your idea because you have two testicles...what's wrong with the other one?
Testicle cancer won't happen to everyone, but you're acting like it's something that will definitely happen. Especially if you get check-ups and learn how to self-check.
A lot of people regret not being able to have children. Maybe you shouldn't get both of them removed.
What about testicle transplant? I did some reading online that says that testicle transplant has been done on animals, but there's the chance of tissue rejection, and the fact that getting a testicle from another person would make all the sperm have the donor's genes, instead of your genes. So really it's not like it's your child, even though you did the "deed".
How do you tell your parents? I would just bring it up to my dad. It'd probably be less awkward cuz he's another guy.
Either that, or you could convince your parents to bring you to a doctor for a check up, and then mention it to the doctor.

I don't see how one testicle removed will remove your chances of having children. That's what the other one is for! Even if it does remove your chances raising an adopted child is just as fulfilling and rewarding as raising a biological child. BUT again, it is unlikely that one removed testicle will also remove your fertility.
Either way it is not worth the risk of keeping the testicle. I would remove it.

first, tell your folks, second, if only 1 test isn't descended, then you will be able to have kids since the other one is down, but you must go to the doctor
