(Just as a thought that doesn't pertain to the question, University of Oklahoma has one of the best meteorology programs in the U.S. DEFINITELY check it out if you're interested, it looks awesome.)

I love weather as well, and aspired to be a meteorologist up until a year ago, so I know something about this.

UoA isn't exactly an Ivy-League school, so a good way of getting in is simply to exhibit traits of a desirable student overall... good grades, a nice SAT/ACT score, etc. For individual classes though, make sure you cover the basic sciences, physics and chemistry namely. If you can find a more specialized course such as environmental studies, that's excellent.

It depends on how big your town is, but if you could possibly find a way to volunteer at your local weather station, or do volunteer work which has to do with gathering envionmental or weather data, that looks great to a college. They look for those things where you go out and do that extra bit of work; it shows them that you really enjoy studying weather.

Lots of science, decent grades, and some volunteer work will get you very far. And nice choice of career... weather is fascinating. ;)

I'm not in meteorology, however, I think you'd need high marks in science and mathematics, so physics, chemistry, environmental sciences (if offered), geography, algebra, geometry, calculus (don't know if you'd need it but it would look good having it), possibly biology and whatever other sciences there are. You may also want to take some social science courses as that could go well with meteorology. Some volunteer work for meteorology would look great as it shows your interest in it beyond simply academic. Taking AP (advanced placement) courses you could do but that is up to you if you wish to take them.

From a University entrance perspective, you want high marks in Maths and Sciences (which ones vary per University, so check out their website). But in so far as what class will help your understanding, geography is the one you want especially. My high school geography teacher had the school's computers linked to a Doppler radar station!

There aren't specific classes you should take other than honors classes. Honors classes and AP courses (and IB too) look good on your transcript. The most important thing is to do well in those classes.

The only classes I would recommend you should try taking are astronomy and meterology or some other type of weather or earth science class.
Not sure if your school offers that tho

I love weather, and hope to possibly become a Meteoroligist in the future.

I'm taking Math classes all 4 years (You only need to take 3 years in my HS) and Science all 4 years (Same as Math)
