how do i put a profile picture, i uploaded one but i dont know how to get rid of that smiley face

You go to "User PC" in the upper left corrner. Then you look down the menu on the left corner, and search for "Edit Avatar". You should know what to do from there. If you can't figure it out, just ask. yea, hope this helped.

this was asked in the wrong forum. and i don't think you can get rid of the smiley. Do you mean the one that says "new" or "50+" or whatnot? i don't think you can remove that

If you are talking about the "New" smiley below your username, no, you can't delete that. Every time you get a new post count (25, 50, 100, 250, 500 ,100, 2500, 500, 10,000) it will change colors and looks.

Yeah. The smiley face is your post count face. It shows your rank as a member: how many posts you have.

Adding an avatar won't get rid of it. It stays there forever.

Also note: an avatar is different from a profile picture. An avatar shows up on the forums when you post, but a profile picture is meant to be a picture of yourself that shows up when people look at your profile.

Both an avatar and a profile picture can be edited by clicking the link "UserCP" near the top of the page, under the "VirtualTeen" banner. One you click that link, go to the left on the next page and you will see a whole bunch of options. There, you can find the link that lets you change your avatar, and another one for your profile picture.
