I've recently started cutting again, and I seem to get better at it each time. They are horizontal and vertical on my left arm, and i also tried on my stomach (above the belly button but below my bust).
[If anyone knows if the sickly feeling I got after cutting my stomach had anything to do with the cutting itself, please tell.]

Here's the realisation I made, this time around; cutting's like smoking. I've smoked before and every now-and-then I get the urge/crave to have a smoke. Every now and then (no matter if I'm feeling angry, up, down or out) I also get the urge/crave to cut. The difference is a ciggarette isn't as readily available as a sharp metal edge.

I know people have said cutting is addictive before, but this was a sort of breakthrough for me, so I really wanted to tell people about it.

i completely understand what you mean about the cravings

and when you got this sickly feeling did u get really light headed aswell?? or feel like you were going to faint??

because then yes its from the cutting

otherwise no i dont think so

good luck and keep trying to stop :)

The sickly feeling could be down to stress or anxiety.
Unless you bled a ridiculously large amount then it is very unlikely to be because of your cutting.

cutting is ment to be like a drug, and a very addictive one at that, although ive never smoked myself i understand that urge/crave to cut.

i think i understand the feeling you get..
i get one simliar, but i get a feeling of sickness..
i doubt ur cutting has nething to do with the actual cuttin ur stomah, i'd say its a mix of feelings which caused it, i think thats wat i get....................x

Cutting is addicting. When you are injured, endorphines and created which create the illusion of pleasure, much like foreign addictive substances do. It is a way of coping, of filling in the hurt for something that seems to work, and it is indeed addictive.
But, it is possible to become clean from drugs, to quit smoking, and to stop drinking, is it not? Thus it is possible to quit.
I hope you make it lovie. I hope you can stop. I know you can.

(If this sounds odd it's cause Its midnight & I'm in a down mood)
Thank you all so much, this made me so... it made me smile. :) see? That's me.
People out their may be glad to hear that I've stopped. But don't break out in cheers-
One of my biggest revealations was that THE URGE IS ALWAYS THERE. Ever seen someone who hasn't smoken for years break down in a moment and start again?

I know a 'moment' will come again - I just hope there'll be a different way next time.
*heh* Maybe I'll log on here instead.

(P.S: The sickly feeling isn't nausea, nor did I loose a huge amount of blood. I don't think the sickly feeling was to [physically] do with it).
