He'd been drinking white grain spirit, vodka and beer?
See, this is why I don't give money to these people.
Giving them food and non-alcoholic drinks is fine.
But why give them money just so they can get wasted?

Yes, I suppose I hadn't thought of it from that angle. I was just struck by what a horrible story it was and how remarkable that it could be possible to survive.

Spare a thought for the bin men though, the shock for them must have been terrible too. It wouldnt surprise me if they were too traumatised to return to work.
