well dont ever ask her straight up normally stuff like that doesnt work at least not for me. just have a normal convo and at the end ask so you give her time to think. i dont know i am not an expert but maybe :/

Build up the friendship, get to know each other, become good friends and when you feel you both are good friends drop hints that you like her, then ask her out, don't be shy, girls like confidence

Just try and be direct, but nice for example you could say,
"Hey I was wondering if you wanna go catch a movie sometime?"

Be careful about building up a friendship or you may end up friend zoned (Wont go out with you as too good of a friend and wouldn't want to risk friendship.
