Nuclear Power Plant in Ohio

I didn't know if this is where to put this.

Plans for a nuclear power plant have been released in Ohio. Do you think it should be built? Because I think about the events or Chernoble. It worries me. Because a majority of Russia is still suffering from radiation. Is anyone else worried?

Not one bit, we (as in humans) have advanced in the nuclear power area alot sence Chernobyl

I live in Ohio and there is already a nuclear power plant here. One county to the west of where I live... it's been here for quite a while. :]

There is nothing we can do. It keeps the state going.

Better than coal, or natural gas plants.
The only thing nuclear power plants produce is steam, and last time I checked, that wasn't harmful to the environment.

There's a nuclear power plant near Lake Erie in Ohio already. I've seen it. I'm not worried about it and why should I? We already have once, another won't be something that will kill us all.

You shouldn't be worried. It is just the media making the American public scared of things that it should not be scared of. Nuclear power has come LEAPS AND BOUNDS since the disaster like...30 years ago.

It is MUCH much safer and there are reallly sooo many more regulations.

Nuclear power is much friendlier and I think we need to build more reactors. The only thing you should be concerned about is where to put the used stuff up, and thats already solved. So I tihnk you guys are fine and I encourage building it :D

And I did some quick research, the last nuclear "disaster" in the US was 3 years ago, and in that case some liquid stuff spilled...and that was within the plant.
And there were similar things before that too, so I dont think anyone should be concerned

Okay, I was pretty worried. Something about it bugs me. But I guess you're right. Alot can change in 25 years. :P
