I know that pimples or acne are normal in puberty, but I was wondering if eating habits can influence in the quantity of pimples???

In simple terms my question is: Is there some type of food that helps acne to be less???

Btw I'm 16 and I have some pimples. I consider that I eat health, I mean, T eat vegetables and drink A LOT of soda. I also eat red meat and fish. I rarely eat junk food and drink water.

This questions can help:

In the scale of 0-10, where 10 is the highest, how much acne do you have???

What do you eat frequently???

Thank you very much!!! :what::what::what:

In the scale of 0-10, where 10 is the highest, how much acne do you have??? id say 4/10

What do you eat frequently??? Breakfast: Yogurt with granola. Lunch(when i have it): A sandwich with cheese and salami
Dinner: chicken, fish, nachos, chili, sausage, etc.
To drink: Milk and water and when we go out soda.
I eat mostly healthy foods I would say.
I think there is a correlation between sugary foods and acne, though im not sure. Try cutting down on the soda and see if that helps.
It is a fact of puberty though, you are going to have acne. Itll clear up eventually though

I'm 15 and I would say out of 10 I would be 2 or 3...When I was 11 or 12 I would say a 10. haha

Anyways any type of oily foods can cause pimples, also I heard protein shakes etc. can cause acne. Even nuts, but I'm not sure about that.

And I keep my acne down by using Oxy Maximum every night before I sleep, and prescription pills.

If you don't want to read a book, scroll to the bottom.

It's a myth that oily/salty foods cause acne

What might be causing it if you're considering food is touching your face with oily hands
Pimples are just clogged (usually infected) pores. Shockingly enough, along with oil, dead skin cells are keeping everything plugged up.

Food isn't going to change much, but you could start washing your face, but for gods sake PLEASE don't use hand soap. It's too drying and can often make it worse. Face wash, ask your mom she might actually have some

And, however contradictory this sounds, moisturize too. Remember the comment about skin flakes? That's caused by dry skin. The oily part comes from the bad combination of hormones (cause everything don't they?) + your body trying to compensate and going too far.

Short version: Oily foods won’t change anything. The easiest solution is to wash your face

What she said. ^ I don't know why this myth has been so persistent. The only reason oily foods would worsen acne would be if you touched your face with grease on your fingers. Changing your diet won't do anything.

the food that you eat has absolutely no correlation with the amount of acne you have. The only way you can get acne from food is if you touch your face afterward and the food you ate was very greasy.

I think it more leans towards diet. If you have a diet high in fats etc. In other words you eat lots of crap and don't balance it out. Then you will have less healthy skin (I think) and that leads to blocking of the pores etc.

But mainly its down to what gwyn said...so i wouldn't of thought it would make a huge difference. But frankly if you eat too much crap you should stop anyway. Regardless of acne.

Wash your face a lot. Don't eat a lot of chocolate and don't eat a lot of greasy food. Eat healthy and take showers and it will clear up and be a part of puberty.
