Like the title says, How do you keep your teeth healthy and white?

I've always been really lazy when it comes to brushing my teeth. I always only used to brush once a day 6 days a week(not on saturdays) for YEARS. Holidays were the worst haha there were times I went for 5-7days straight with no brushing at all!

But I guess I can say I am blessed with good teeth, I have never had to get any of my teeth filled or whatever (im 18 now). They were yellow of course bet never too yellow!

So last week I said to myself I need to change this! I told my mom to get me some mouthwash to help me to whiten my teeth and also motivate/remember me to brush my teeth. It's only been a week of brushing twice a day and using the mouthwash in the morning after brushing that I'm seeing results! :) Got such a good feeling just now when I looked at my teeth that I am posting here now haha!

The best way to keep them looking white is to brush them. Twice a day, every day. I think we're all guilty of being lazy once in a while, but you have to keep up with it. Not only do you tend to wake up with bad morning breath which annoys everyone, but it's actually not good for your teeth to go without brushing them. xP The mouthwash is a good idea too, to help wash out bacteria. Some even claim to help whiten your teeth. the thing with most "whitening" washes and toothpastes though, is that what they really do is help to prevent new stains, they don't always do much about the existing stuff. If you don't end up with the results you'd like and want to do more about it, talk to your dentist about bleaching trays or if they recommend any of the over-the-counter products.

Now for your dental hygiene lesson of the day: Brushing your teeth helps prevent cavities, for sure, but it also helps prevent tartar buildup. Tartar is that hard white-ish stuff, usually around the gum line, that your dental hygienist spends so much time trying to scrape off of your teeth. Especially if you tend to find this painful, or if you're one of the people like me who just have a tendency to build tartar, it's in your best interest to keep this at a minimum. Flossing is also a good way to help with that. So even if you've never had a cavity, you DO still need to keep your teeth clean. So, brushing regularly equals spending less time in the dentist's chair with sharp instruments in your mouth: How's that for extra motivation? xP

To keep my teeth healthy and white, I brush them twice daily (Sometimes more, if I feel the need. Sometimes after I eat I'm just like "Ew, okay, these need to be brushed now!) and I floss once daily. I don't use whitening toothpaste or mouthwash because I have braces, and my orthodontist says not to. I use a special prescription fluoride toothpaste at night from my orthodontist, and I just generally keep my teeth clean. For right now, unfortunately, I can't do anything to get them whiter, but once my braces come off I might look into whitening strips. Also, to keep your teeth healthy, make sure you are visiting a dentist twice a year!

Yes brushing atleast twice a day helps. But you should also get the Arm and Hammer toothpaste, you won't see the results immeadiately but you will in about 14 days

For me, I don't always use floss but rather these little tree-like things that fit right between the teeth nicely. I also use a bit of fluoride rinse after brushing and using the tree things. They are not prescription but rather simple things to buy at any basic shoppers drug mart or pharmacy. You may want to use an electric brush but I've never liked the feeling of it not at home nor at the dentist (with the polishing thing) so I only use manual.
