It is a personal choice, really, and there is no right or wrong answer. I suppose you could shave off your chest hair once to see how it feels and to see if it is worth doing it. Sometimes for hairy guys shaving is so taxing that they don't bother to do it. There is nothing wrong with a guy shaving body hair in general, and the hairless look is really in fashion now. Basically, if you do decide to shave yourself, then you are not a freak for doing so.

Why would you give a shit about it? If you like the feeling of a smooth chest, shave it. If you like the hair, don't. Its really easy.

It's all up to personal choice, I suppose.
In my opinion, I like chest hair... But not a forest either.
If you feel comfortable shaving it off, then do it. If not, then don't. If you do shave it, it will itch like crazy in the beginning, but no; I don't find it odd either.

Meh, I have quite a bit of chest hair, and I just leave it. I used to shave it because I was really self conscious about it because I was like the only guy my age to have it. Now that I am in college though I am just leaving it alone. But yeah, if you want to get rid of it, you should probably nair it or wax it, shaving will leave stubble or those little dots under the skin, and it will look really obvious that you have chest hair that you shave, which could be more awkward than just having the hair.
