Do your parents know bout this? or do you do this secretly? Its not really a bad thing if you like it.. kinda like sucking your thumb or chewing your nails, but yeah i wouldnt recommend doing in public or with your friends. You would seem a bit odd.

As Jon has pointed out, a pacifier is what's sometimes called a dummy here in the UK, or else a soother.

If the OP is really in this situation then I'm sure he would be very unhappy about it and agree with the view that the majority of replies on here are unhelpful and not in the spirit of vt.

I don't know of anyone of your age that uses a pacified/dummy, so its probably unusual, but I do know quite a few people who suck their thumbs and really thats the same thing, and thats not so unusual. So please dont feel too way out about it.

I believe you can get stuff from the chemist to paint on to make the things taste bad, perhaps you could try that?

If this is indeed true, I would work on coming off of it slowly (obviously if you could just stop, you would have). Little by little. It is not a huge problem now, but it will become more strange as you grow.

And to those of you who are making fun of it, lay off. Learn some tolerance and decency.
