Recent posts in some threads I was reading lead me to re-read the VT story in the home pages, but even after reading them I was left with some unanswered questions I was hoping someone here could answer:
Who 'owns' this site? I know it's meant to be a community board, but someone still has to pay the bills.
Is VT or the GovTeen Networks a legallly recognized not-for-profit entity? If so, who is the director of said entity?
thanks,
Antares

It's owned by Ant and Alex
And yes it is as far as I know the original director was Sam but since he passed away its been split up and shared among different site admins...i think
http://www.govteen.org/
There are allot of biased fallacies in that history
I wouldn't believe much of it if I was you

I own the website domain and I also pay to run the server the site runs on. redcar, a retired administrator, owns the vBulletin forum software license.
Ever since the original owner (Sam Alexander) died, VirtualTeen.org has no longer been apart of the GovTeen, Inc. non-profit corporation since the corporation doesn't exist anymore.
We are completely independent in our operations.

Just connected loosely in the Govteen Network as affiliates i might add. Just to avoid possible confusion of the OP.

Hardly. In fact I really don't consider us apart of any type of network.

I don't believe that any of that story is incorrect. And you're a veteran, just as I am, so what would you have said differently?

that's sad. I liked seeing us as a part of a network. Do you think it's better now?

I noticed on the govteen/network thing.
It counted vt as a 'project'. ?? What's up with that? Is it just bad phrasing?

Nope, VirtualTeen.org was a project that extended from GovTeen. It was just like the B418 project, except for VT has done very well.

But we were only in theory part of a network. In reality we had no contact with any projects after the death of Sam and even when Sam was alive we were pretty much on our own with only one common factor. Network is kind of a misleading word in this situation.

So...we are just affiliated with GovTeen?
Because it seems like they still consider us as aprt of their network. They even link to their site in their TopBar thingy

They link to their own site? What?
Assuming you mean that they link to us, I'm not certain. Is that GovTeen.com that you're speaking of? I didn't see anything link that at GovTeen.com, like ever. At GovTeen.org (the network information site), they still link to us because we were a project and I don't think that there has been a formal meeting of splitting the projects up into their own unaffiliated websites. We are completely independent, but yes, we are still faintly affiliated with the GovTeen Networks. But the network site needs to be updated, as Alex and I are no longer administrators of this website.
