Sitting on the frozen lake,
Pondering our futures,
We sit side by side and look
Up into the deep blue sky...
The clouds take many forms
And oh, even when its cold outside
They seem to keep us warm;
I swear I see an aeroplane,
You tell me that I'm wrong...
You say its just a silly shape,
In reality, nothing,
You smile and you kiss my cheek,
While I sit there wondering...
You're all I've ever cared for since
The young age of sixteen,
My heart, I swear, it beats for you,
And it beats for you alone.
But now the warmth inside of me,
It starts to turn to cold,
Do you really care for me,
Or has our love grown old?
Will the ice, the bond we have,
Melt in time and have us fall?
Or are we still forever, love
Because that's what I want...
You're all I've ever cared for since
The young age of sixteen,
My heart, I swear, it beats for you,
And it beats for you alone.
You sit there on the frozen lake,
Giggling at the dark, gray clouds,
I sit there and just look down,
Not knowing what to say.
I see the ice, it starts to crack,
My heart it beats, it beats real fast,
You look back down, into my eyes,
You see my fear and wonder why...
You look at the ice then too (and you know we're screwed)...
You're all I've ever cared for since
The young age of sixteen,
My heart, I swear, it beats for you
And it beats for you alone.
I pick you up as the lake collapses,
The ice it shatters, but you're what matters,
I shoot across the breaking water,
And get you to a safer spot but...
I lose control of what I'm thinking,
You are saved, but I am breaking,
Like the ice I'm slowly cracking,
A thin division inside of me,
I start to wonder what I'm becoming...
You're all I've ever cared for since
The young age of sixteen,
My heart, I swear, it beats for you,
And it beats for you alone.
The ice is gone, melted away (as am I, I'm so sorry),
And now you think you won't be saved,
But know that you will find one day,
Someone to make it better...
Pondering our futures,
We sit side by side and look
Up into the deep blue sky...
