Well for starters, I'd tell her the truth. Say why you feel your relationship isn't working and but tell her you still care about her (assuming you do). Also, never say it's her fault, but don't blame yourself either. Um thats all I can think of, I'm sure other people will have more to say.

Its best to be honest and straight with the truth explain how you still want to be best friends, explaining the reason for why you are breaking is a difficult subject, if the reason is you like another girl or something like that.

i went through the same thing about 3 years ago. we were good friends but it didnt work as bf+gf. we both realised it, broke up and are better friends than ever now. talk to her.

sit her down and talk 2 her as a friend, b honest and above all, listen 2 her side. just because u want 2 break up with her doesn't mean ur right and that u ought to go through with it. be fair, decent and respectful mate
