as much as i try to keep it from not gettin hard, it happens. It also depends on the doctor/nurse and what you think of them.

Nope, thankfully, but I always make sure I get a male nurse to be safe.

No, but if you do, its cool. The doctor understands that it is a possiblilty, and they will be mature about it.

Don't worry, this is expected in teenagers because of the rush of hormones, so if it happens they will be ok about it, it just happens and there is nothing you can do about it

I have actually asked my physician (call me crazy/weird), and he says it actually happens a lot. They are trained to take no note of it, or anything for that matter, so the patient/doctor confidentiality still remains.

It happens. Ive had several physicals. And only once I got a boner, and it was more like only half hard. But i think it was cuz I didnt get a chance to go pee before i saw the doc. and I REALLY had to go, and sometimes I get like semi-hard when I have to pee like that.

ONE: it is unlikely that you will get an erection.
TWO: prevention. if you are so worried that it will happen, make an algebra problem in your head and solve it. That will take your mind off of anything sexual or worrisome and focus all of your attention on whatever x equals. If you hate math, recite the alphabet backwards in your head. that also takes a lot of concentration that will stop and erections.
THREE: if it happens, pretend it doesn't. Anything you say WILL make it awkward. So say nothing; they know that this happens, and it has probably happened many times before with them. They will not acknowledge it, you have nothing to worry about.

School physicals are pretty basic, and chances are all your doctor will do is make sure your immunizations are up to date and that you don't have any other chronic health problems. Everything depends upon the health form used by your school and/or State, but school physicals generally do not involve your getting undressed or anything like that. At most your doctor might check for a hernia which involves his feeling around your genitals, but it is really not a big deal.
As the others have mentioned the doctors and nurse are professionals, and they don't care if you get an erection or not. After going through medical school and nursing school those folks have seen so much over their careers that a teenage guy getting a boner is just not going to faze them. To be frank, it is super hard to get aroused in a doctor's office as the smell of anti-septic, latex gloves, and a cold room are all huge turn offs. Even if you get a boner, then don't worry as no one will care.
Also, I would use this opportunity to ask your doctor any questions you might have about puberty as this is a good time to do so.

I've never gotten one but I have thought about it. I know other kids who have tho. The only thing that might give you an erection is when he feels your balls, but that only takes a few seconds. I try to think about something else when he does that and it's over so quick, nothing happens.
If you did get one, just realize that it happens a lot and the doctor sees it all the time. He's not gonna think any less of you for it.

Don't feel so bad about it! I'm sure that your doctor has gone through that process so many times, that he/she could care less if you had an erection or not. It has happened to me a few times, and I just tended to ignore it and that usually helps me.
