^^, would it be weird to ask your father to buy a box of condoms for you?
I personally do not really think so because he should be proud that you're doing safe sex.
Thanks for your opinions.

Well it's not weird at all, it's just your dad could get mad at you if he finds out you want to have sex. It also depends on your father's view of sex. Does he believe in no sex before marriage?

it would depend entirely on how much of a relationship you and your father have. if you dont really talk that much, then sure, it's going to be preeetty awkward asking. but if you talk about anything anyway, then it wouldn't really matter that much...if that makes sense...
but, as already said, it would be illegal for you to have sex anyway.

@ Spin - He's had sex before marriage and he is a laid back type, plus, he would be proud.
@Skuba Steve - I'll be doing this at like, age 16. Which is legit.

Doesn't have to be, in Croatia, sex is legal when you're 14 :)

Whether it'd be weird or not depens entirely on you and your dad. It doesn't have to be at all.
But unless you have some kooky laws down there in the states I don't know about (I'm Canadian), it's not illegal for you to buy condoms yourself, without parental knowledge or consent. And it's -certainly- not illegal for a parent to give them to you.

"Proud" is an unusual adjective to describe his reaction. I suppose he'd be 'Proud' if you got straight A's. I suppose he'd be 'Proud if you saved someone's life. But 'Proud' that you're sexually active and/or using condoms? Somehow, I think you might be either using the term differently than I, or you're misjudging your dad's probable reaction here. Or, that you want/need him to equate your sexuality with being a 'grown up'. If that's the case, I'd suggest you maybe rethink what his value system is, and maybe engage in those behaviors that would actually make him 'Proud' of you.

Here is a simple answer.
No.
Here is an elaborated answer.
It won't be weird but why don't you just buy it yourself. Although he will probably be like nervous and having to talk to you and ask why you need it and such but you can get some money and buy it yourself

I think he may be proud as it shows that you are taking the mature approach to the situations. It shows you have looked into having sex, are aware of the consequences and can make an informed decision about using contraception.
Of course every parent wants the best for their child, so do they really want to think that their kid is having sex, which even with protection can still lead to pregnancy , STD's etc

Its not weird or anything, I just couldn't imagine asking my dad. He might be ok with it, but if my mom found out she would freak and i would be cut off from everything for the rest of my life.

Well, my dad knows that my cousin gives me money for condoms, but I can't imagine asking my dad to buy them for me. That's the good thing about being the baby cousin!

Perhaps the first impression that my father have would be confusion, but I think he will understand that I'm taking care about my health so I think I wouldn't have any problem asking my father for a box of condoms.
