How did you notice armpit hair?

Hey guys,
this might seem like a weird question, but how did you notice you were getting arnpit hair? Were you checking for it? Did someone else point it out? Were you getting out of the shower and you saw it in the mirror when you raised your hand? Just wondering how other guys first noticed their hair...

Im not hairy..so when one of my cousins saw my once hairless armpit and said that I shaved or something..which I didn't..so from then and on I kept looking if anything was growing and by now I have moderate hair..not as hairy as other guys though

For me I kinda knew and someone else noticed. I got really itchy for a few days and that is when I started paying attention to my pits. However, my mom noticed some hair while I was swimming one day I think.

wow, way to jump to conclusions...I was asking bc someone else pointed out mine and I was kind of embarassed, but it was the first I noticed it, so I was just wondering how others noticed...and took a look around the site, there are lots of questions that surpass this in terms of being weird.

I really don't like armpit hair, and ive been shaving it for a while now, but I read that shaving can interfear with muscle development because of testosterone, so I think im going to lay of of it.

Correct me if i am wrong, but that doesn't sound like that is possible. The amount of armpit hair you have does not correspond to the amout of testosterone you have. True testosteorone develops the growth of armpit hair, but testosterone is not in armpit hair, nor does it "measure" the amount of testosterone you have. That is like saying the amount of honey in a jar describes how good it is. It just doesnt make sense.

arrmpit hair kind of bugs me though, but I think il just live with it.

If you mean it is irritating, then it is to a lot of others too. When we first begin to grow armpit hair, the skin around our armpits isn't used to the mix of the hair and sweat that is produced (when going through puberty). Therefore it may seem irritating now, but if you just let it grow out, then it gets better, and you don't even feel it.
