8 years?! Do you goto a half elementary and half jr. high school?
Anyway, you're friends should be able to contact you over the summer, and you're teachers...
do you have a school website? You could e-mail them then

Yeah, it's not like high school. You rarely get a diploma, and it's rarely formal or needed.
Plus, even in formal graduations, you still can graduate if you have high enough grades; they'd probably mail your diploma, or you'd have to pick it up. You won't be held back because you're sick.
As for not saying goodbye, just try to get over the flu. Go to a doctor, and see if there are any medicines/vitamins you can take to help relieve/get rid of the symptoms.
You could also always ask your school if you can come, and just not touch anyone/go too close to anyone. Not sure how fun it'd be though.

You can. ....you're getting a ceremony too? D: Our 7th-9th grades were in the some building, even though jr. high lasted for 7th and 8th grades...
Anyway, yeah you can. Even in high school, it's not required to goto the ceremony. Do you have like a half day or something? You could just goto school that half day, then come home during the ceremony...
