I took the SAT last year, and the ACT the year before.
I would say the SAT is rather hard, but I was 13, so don't take my word for it.
Make sure you know your vocabulary; that's where I struggled most. At my school, vocabulary isn't taught at all, so I was stuck with a limited "book-reading" vocabulary- everything I knew came from books I read. If you know a lot of writing techniques, the writing portion will be a breeze. You usually just have to find simple errors in short texts, which is usually pretty easy. And you write an essay, which is a little more complicated, since the prompts usually suck. Math is math really. I had been half way through 10th grade math when I took it, so theoretically, I should have known mot of it, but I didn't really. You either know it, or you don't. There will be some ones that aren't multiple choice where you have to actually fill in the answer, which are a little tougher.

I'd advise visiting www.CollegeBoard.com and downloading a sample SAT, and looking through it. You also might want to take an SAT/ACT prep class, or just do your own prep.

Oh right, on a scale on 1 to 10, I'd say 7 or 8. It's not extremely tough or grueling, but not fun or easy either.

Okay, well I took the practice tests of the SAT and the ACT.
You live in Indiana so you may take the ACT instead.
But umm, when I took the PSAT I was much more prepared. I mean it is tough, probably a 7 on a scale of 10 if you memorize stuff well but it's doable.

I totally suggest enrolling in prep classes. That will familiarize you with the questions. Also, you can get SAT questions e-mailed to you daily. Thats a big help.

Some of the quetsions are like WTFF?! but if you study hard enough you can get a good score.

On a scale of 1-10...
3.

It's not that it's overly hard, it's just very drawn out and takes forever.

Brush up on your vocab, essay writing skills, algebra and geometry.

The SAT is designed to make you make mistakes. Study your root words, and eliminate as many choices as possible. Good luck.
