iPods RULE. There is no comparison between the any iPod and any Walkman. I have had the 2nd and 3rd generation Nano, and the 2nd gen Touch, my brother has the 4th gen Nano and we have had no problems with any of them. And its Apple so it, you know, works

I prefer iPods, because a) iTunes is the best online music store, b) they have a long battery life, c) the customer and technical support is good, and d) on the newer nanos you can play movies, music videos, etc. and play games.

the new walkmans where made with them in mind it dosnt have the apps but who honestly needs them much better sound quality with enclosed amplifyer so there's no longer any distortion with as bassy as you like and can do all the youtube crap with 32gb mem

got the ipod touch. its great. speakers on it(which arent horrible. not great, but good for what they are) wi-fi, apps, plenty of music, photos, buying music straight of it, and so on and so forth

Lovie, the digital music quality is much better then CD's. The sound quality has no errors, and does not skip. It's not questionable.
You're living in the past... sooner or later walkmans will be gone and MP3 files will dominate. Hope you're ready.

Correction, I didn't realize your definition of Walkmans were regular MP3 players.
My opinion is that they are difficult to load and not user friendly for the computer end of things. I had a Sansa, and my friend had a Sansa and they were difficult to load songs onto and just not user friendly on the computer. I did not like it at all. I love iPods because iTunes is such a good program, and works so well for editing music information and adding/taking off songs.
I saw(heard) no difference in the sound quality though between my friends Sansa and my nano.

and actualy quallity is better on cds than mp3 as it is not compressed as much meaning that less sound quality is lost from the origional recording

Yep.. I have to admit, Walkmans don't exactly give me goosebumps. my 2nd Gen Nano, however.. ^V^ Love it. 3 years and still going strong! Which is surprising, really. I'm sure Apple make iPods in such a way that they break after a predetermined amount of time...

I have to admit that I am bias to apple everything though. I have had 8 different types of iPods: 1st generation classic, 2nd gen. classic, 5th gen classic, 2nd generation nano, 3rd generation nano, 1st gen touch, 2nd gen touch, ad iPhone 3G.

Sound quality is HELLA amazing on both my 2nd gen touch and iPhone 3G with the Ultimate Ears Super fi 5vi headphones!

But I have to admit that I like my voodoo envy 133 better than any mac or macbook... that is the only thing i dont like about apple, their computers! they have propriatary everything! which sucks!

there's actually an incredible differance in sound quality between mp3 players and headphones only boost that so far, for instance the ipod is designed to only go to a certain volume so that distortian never kicks in with any songs, but sony walkman has a much better bass quality produced. as well as this i may be wrong but i think cd - players have much better sound quality than any digital player since the data is not compressd. also is it not quite obvious that i wouldn be sitting around with 90s tech.

Why don't you guys get a small sound system to play it on? I recomment the Tivoli iyiyi. It has AMAZING sound quality. Best base I have heard on a small sound system like that.

Naw, it is a sound system, so basically like a Bose sound system... but it (tivoli iyiyi) increases the sound quality of my iPhone to be 9274392874928742938472% better...

I have Bose in ear phones for my iPod Touch and they are absolutely amazing. They are better than most of the sound systems in cars I've been in and my dad rents a car at least once a month for the last 8 years

well it's a pretty standard slide design with the whole idea to make it more compact which it has getting rid of the UMD hardware and if your comparing it to that mini pc thing then i guess your gonna have to compare it with the lg ks360
