O damaged soul
why torment yourself
with such despair?

Summer sunshine
should lift your heart
yet you choose darkness.

Is this the price
of that rejection
which you met with gladness?

Can it be right
to live a life
in so much loneliness.

The carefree mask
you show the world
hides tears beneath.

Cry then soul,
cry yourself to sleep
and dream again of love.
