I'm weeding this from a thread entitled "is joe jonas gay" from the Music forum in The 4th Wall. I thought this would be a good debate for any that wanted to participate.
i just think he is gay (not not being used as some kind of remark) not because of the dancing but his overall personallity
Judging by this quote, do you think that, by judging a person through looks and personality, you can automatically assume that they are gay?
My opinion is that you shouldn't judge anybody by their personality or looks, but rather their character. Here's a good example:
1. You're at the mall with your friends and you see a woman. Not just an ordinary woman, but a woman with an athletic build, big muscles and she's very tall. Do you automatically assume that she's a lesbian?
All comments on this subject are welcomed.

I believe its fair to have your own opinion and prujudice because those are human nature, however, prejudism can be wrong and you cannot base this as absolute fact. And with the modern day society, It is impossible to distinguish beteen on or another at firstglance, because people are so mixed.

Plenty have assumed that I was gay because I'm fairly feminine and metro, but their opinions never made me have a fascination with the cock. Some have gone as far as insisting that I was gay. That always leads to a hilarious end result.

Pfft no. How tall a person is doesn't set off the gaydar!
And really, when I think of the stereotypical lesbian, she is not muscular. So no. I would not think that is a lesbian. She is a bodybuilder.

You could use your gaydar to guess whether they're gay or not.
This does NOT always work, but it works enough for it to be interesting to use.
Mormons are the toughest of all. Those people are impossible to read.
Some guys have a high, nasally voice, and act very feminine. Some of them, I'm almost sure they're gay. Especially if they love to talk about fashion, and they carry around an Abercrombie bag just for the heck of it (like this one guy I know).
I don't really hang out with these people so I think it's ok to judge them.
Dyed hair is also a sign.
I mean to an extent you can get an idea of whether or not they're gay or straight from the way they act and how they dress, because those are windows to who they really are in my opinion. Sometime's you're wrong, but we wouldn't have stereotypes if they didn't make some kind of sense.

Strangely, I actually agree with this. It's not because they're Mormon, but their personality is so calm and laid back I can't really tell what they're really like.

Although people shouldn't judge by stereotypes, they are there for a reason. If it is common that gays have a higher gay and are more feminine, then it shouldn't be terrible to think some people that fit these qualities might be gay. However, assuming someone is automatically gay because of these features is wrong.

Well i'd judge if i want to be around someone by their personality...
But sexuality?
Er..
No sorry you can't do that.
And honestly, as for your example, i wouldn't.. There are tall women. I know you're using that as an example, but.. my point exactly.
Also, for the record, 'gaydar' is totally pointless...

I think there are signs but nothing can be told just from that. Like a couple of guys i knew. they were both roommates. one had this kinda valley girlish voice and was always commenting on peoples clothes. the other guy was kinda muscular and tall. it turns out that it was the second guy that was openly gay. dunno about the first one but w/e.

I'm gonna be real honest, I judge people by how the look all the time. If your wearing a tight pink polo with spiked, frosted hair, I'm gonna call the gay-card on you.
I think everyone judges to some extent, just some people vocalize their thoughts.

unless there one of thoes hugely stereotypical gays, i really can't tell. alot of people in my year (including me) are going through a faze where they just act gay infront of everyone to creep people out. so its really hard to tell if their faking it completely or if theres some truth behind it..
