Hi, i have a problem with sleep, it sort of gets in the way of school, i normally go to bed at about 9:30 to 10, but if i sleep till 7-8 am i wake up feeling tired, weak, ill, and i normally fall back to sleep again, but if i wake up at 5 am in the morning, i can get up fine i feel great, my eyes are wide open, im not tired. bit akward so i get up at 5 am in the morning each day, why's this?.

You already know that when you don't sleep long enough then you feel tired. Well, also if you oversleep than you can be tired. I'm in the same situation as you. My parents just don't get this fact.

your body gets used to sleeping for a long time, so you feel groggy and tired after slepeping for a long imte. thats why when you eake up from a short nap you feel great! :)

not really a puberty question, so I do believe youve posted this in the wrong place...
but Im always tired if I oversleep...
and I loveearly mornings If I havent had a lete night...
you probably shouldnt sleep more than 8 hours anyhow...

I disagree with this seeing as how the recomended sleep time is 8 hours. I say that 10 would be pushing it.
I don't have this problem when I oversleep, but it's the way things work for you so you should just go with whatever works best for you.

Good question!
There are distinct periods of sleep, ('S' or deep sleep, and 'D', or 'dream sleep' when the brain is more active). Both take about 45 minutes to cycle thru, and allow the brain and the body to get the rest they need. If you sleep for less than the full cycle (or multiple cycles), and miss some part of the sleep cycle, then you wake up groggy, b/c your brain missed part of the cycle, it was interrupted.
In your case, if you're OK at 5am, you can get up then, or try waking up in 45 minute intervals, (5:45, then 6:30, etc.) and see how you feel.
