Why is it, that they're more MTF transgenders to FTM?
I mean, it's kinda lonely. We can relate on some level, but it has to be flipped. (they'd rather wear skirts, I'd rather wear pants. things like that. It is not only in clothes, but in like choosing a restroom.) Before I posted this topic, I did a quick search, and all of the transgendered topics were MTF.
I dunno, I get frustrated sometimes. Even on simple things, like selecting my gender on here. I want to choose male, but then I wouldn't be able to help at all. And with things I could help with, I couldn't post there. (with the puberty sections)
It'd just be nice to know some lurk around.

You ask a good question about the ratio of MTF to FTM. I don't know for sure, but it might have something to do not so much with the 'gender' ("Outside"), but rather the 'identification' ("Inside").
In general (and this is just my own take in it), I think that girls are much more secure with who they are than guys are. If you look at the types and amounts of questions asked on teen websites like VT, what you find is that guys seem much more anxious and insecure than girls do, the types of questions they ask really do speak to a fundamental difference in the way they see and experience themselves. So, it's not surprising that guys would question their identification with gender more than girls do.
In your case, the decision on how to identify yourself might be determined not only by what you feel inside, but also the potential (probable?) consequences of revealing this to your audience.

I figured gender was the inside, and sex was the outside.
Yeah, I have myself all figured out. It'd be a super long post if I went through that, but that isn't the point of this thread.
I do see what you mean though. It's kinda like how there are many girl bisexuals, and almost no guy ones. (adult ones, it seems to vanish once they aren't a teen anymore)

I know there's one guy who lurks around who's ftm... wonder where he is... *shrug* he's not exactly a regular.
I think there are less ftm then mtf because it's more acceptable socially for a woman to dress more masculine, and cut her hair off.. Just socially, if a woman wants to not be 'traditional housewife' whatever BS, she can.
I dunno if that made sence.. sorry

Nono, it makes perfect sense :) That's why it's....kinda hard for females to crossdress, jeans, no make up, short hair, it's ok anyway.
This is all thinking in the right direction, but it's more of the lack of "Gah, why do I have a vagina? I hate it!" The inner feeling.

Haha. or, the more obvoius one "Why the FUCK do i have boobs? These are not meant to be on me" (yehh.. i consiter myself a girl most of the time. but i know where you're coming from)
Meh. maybe girls are slightly more fluid in gender.. *shrug*
you do have a point there.
Or or or..
Maybe mtf is more glamourised by the media.. because it's "stranger"

I think we're almost at the answer!
I just read this essay online. It goes along with the lines of what you were saying. But there are a lot more than people think. Like you said before, it's acceptable for women to dress in "men's" clothes. And those who do and aren't very girly, are just called tomboys.
I think most hide it. They think "It's just a phase" or "I'm just a tomboy" when the feelings go further than that, but they push them aside.
The "Oh it's just a phaaase" that could be true, but phases normally end and don't last very long.
