Racism is basically putting your race or group above others and asking for aid or more rights while doing this seems like a rather bad approach. It's like a group of being very narcissitic and then asking another, better-off group for something. If they want rights, aid or whatever, then be civil and polite.
While being racist could promote your race, it seems like a very bad method to use if you want another group(s) to do something for you. It's great if you want to advertise your race but that's about it in terms of the advantages I can see for it.

I suppose that would be a racist comment, however, that is not necessarily a good one in all circumstances. Take for an example, an Asian who is lousy at mathematics. Saying that Asians are good at math could make that one feel like an outsider from their own race or that it's a sarcastic insult. It could also put other races down b/c as a result of that comment, they are said to not be as proficient at math. Of course, you could then introduce stereotypical lift, etc... .

Promoting achievements by your race isn't racist.
Racist comments are those that are derogatory towards a particular group of people because of their race.

I don't think it's that horrible if it's generally a compliment, but still it just draws a line between races still, which I don't believe in.

if draw a line between race is bad, then effectively we must question whether we must cease promotion of individual culture
i am not a white supremacis or any thing, LOL! i am a Navajo, but i am just curious on what you all to think IMO

As I have already said, the promotion of one race/culture isn't racist but to use race in a derogatory manner against someone is.
For example, it isn't racist for an Arab to say that the numerical system was created by an Arab as it is factual but to say that all Arabs are terrorists is racist.

Exactly. Usually most forms of racism are hypocritical, ignorant, or stereotypical comments. But to call a person from african-american decent the "N" word IS racist.
