welcome message?

i dont know if this has been suggested before
but...
it would be good if we could send out a welcome mesage to new users when they join vt :cool:

i send alot of welcome messages but i cant send one to everyone as much as i want to make people happy :D im not super-human :( and i cant stay up for ever i need to sleep

whats your thoughts about this?

Maybe a welcome message including a link to the rules would be nice, but just a welcome message would be weird; most everyone knows that they are automated, which makes them very impersonal and boring. Unless they contain vital info like the rules, or general overview of the rules, I don't think it'd be necessary.

No, not a PM, but we do have an introductions forum where people can welcome newcomers.
