maybe its either ur computer or ur mic
or u may have to reinstall it
or it could just simply be the connection

umm i dunno what else to say
maybe u shud ask desi shes's pretty good with computers
ir there could be a frayed wire on the inside of the mic chord

Maybe it isn't compatible with MSN, it is MS so they are probably just trying to get more money out of you lol :D. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling MSN, maybe there is something wrong with the installation of it.

On messenger,
Go to Tools > Audio & Video Setup
Change the setting from 'default' to 'custom'.
Change the microphone option to the one you're using.

If you're microphone isn't setup as the default in Start>Control Panel>Sound>Recording Tab Then it will not be the default in other programs.

Oh, and at irishlad: ALL Audio & Video hardware (Microphones, speakers, sound cards, webcams, ect) IS compatible (With the correct drivers). Microsoft actually puts a great deal of effort forth to make sure most hardware will work with Windows, and it's other programs.
