Donny, typically you need to worry if something is new, if it's never been there. Or, if you've been sexually active as *it* could be the result of STI infection. In which case it would be new, too. So, think "New" = potentially a problem. Otherwise, it's most likely just normal.

That said, typically the texture of penis skin has little (really, really small) little dots on/in them. The skin is really thin there, so you can see lots of *stuff* that's normal thru the skin.

if it's a part of your skin, probably forever (unles it a rash or something caused by a 'nasty' or irritation from masturbation, etc.). You can try a little vaseline jelly for a few days and see if they disappear.

I believe you're describing fordyce spots. They are tiny knots which lay under the skin. Because it is so thin they can become visible. Usually they are about 1-3mm in diameter and if you GENTLY nip the area where they are you can feel them as a ball in the skin. (VERY GENTLY AND DONT DO THIS MUCH AT ALL)

They are absolutely harmless. Dont try to cut them off or scratch them off because thats when they turn nasty. Leave them alone and its fine, most people have at least a couple of visible ones somewhere.

Obviously, if they are in large numbers it can look ugly, and the doctor can give you a gel to reverse the effects of them.
