lol a wow server only takes 156mb ram, besides that blizz will only send me a cease and disist letter rather than actaully sue first they tell you to stop, if you dont they can sue for 420k and up, still im not a threat to blizz i can't host for 1000 players at once, and those who can blizz will pay or sue, when they pay you they pay you to become part of the world... either way, i gotta get this comp back up and running ....

Hard or soft reboot? If your hard reboot doesn't work, it might mean that the BIOS got over written by a backup set, though if your soft reboot doesn't work, then it's definitely an option in the OS. Anyway, yeah, hard or soft?

as i put it, the comp will load all the way up to the splash logo then it reboots, i partitioned my other hard drive and used it to get access to files i think its my boot.ini im not exactly sure yet, however this is becoming a serious pain :(

Oh, sorry, guess I read that too fast - I thought you said you couldn't reboot.
It might be a virus... I once had a problem where I couldn't log on to any account without my computer rebooting. I had to reinstall XP on it. If this is pretty much your problem, then I suggest you move all important files on to the new partition and format (and reinstall Windows on) it to save yourself a lot of trouble and time.

ive done that once, i hate formatting, id rather not lose my last two months worth of scripting if possible :( i dont have enough space on my other hard drive its mostly just for my music and my backupfiles that are well confidential and important.... wouldn't have enough space for all the files i gotta save :(

so let me get this straight, you have xp on C: and when it gets to the splash it reboots? if so, try something first, boot to your xp install cd and go to recovery console and type expand d:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ c:\windows\system32
if it doesnt work then try putting the harddrive in another computer and booting the computer to fix your boot.ini if you think its the problem, if all else fails do the above and pull all your scripting off onto a flash or cd and reinstall windoze

its a registry problem its back up now i had to format after sticking most of my files onto my other hard drive, and something odd, i get direct msgs through cmd prompt from microsoft saying go to such and such site pay fifty bucks and clean your registry files they are corrupted etc etc

those, keep popping up like no other, is there anything i could get for free that would do a registry clean and or block that?

Don't listen to that - it's fake, and it's really just messenger spam
There's a few ways you can fix this. The immediate way is to go into your services (start >> Run... >> type in services.msc), find the service called Messenger, double click it and set the start up type to Disabled - while there, you might want to stop the process by clicking on the Stop button :P though if you don't stop it, then just restart your computer. This way requires you to have administrator's rights. If you don't have those, then do it on an account that does, or simply update your computer. Windows XP SP2 disables the Messenger function by default, so just kill two birds with one stone :)

Then update it :P Updating provides optimizations, not just fixes :)
