Dead/dieing laptop

Ok so i have a laptop that is now (as i type) dead, it just crashed and willl not turn on. it is on power, it was when crash still is. the fan only starts up if i hold the power button down, but all that happens is it makes a sound like a motor bike starting up. its a Acer Aspire 3620 (dont know if that may help)

does anyone know what i am to do.

How old is the laptop?
Did it have any dust stuck in the vents?
Have you replaced your fan before?

maybe phone up the place you brought it from...or the company it is made by
