View Full Version : Guys im doing it, no more messing around.

Okay, i am not fat. I am like chubby, but i don't like it. And im finally doing something about it. You guys gave me advice and i just kinda blew it off but not anymore i am losing wieght now.


Here are some things im doing and let me know if what im doing is good, and add anything else.

-I am eliminating all soda's from my diet. No coke sprite pepsi nothing, i am going to drink water juices and milk.

-I am not going to snack in between meals. I will have breakfast lunch and dinner. If i do snack it will be fruites, watermelon, strawberries, grapes, and bananas. For lunch i will either have a bowl of ceral, or a bagel. Lunch i am going to have a sandwich and thats it, because that can fill me up. I am not eating extra. and for dinner whatever my mom makes. I will not get seconds though. And i am cutting out desert completely. I am not eating ramen noodles, cookies, raviolis, tv dinners, chips any of that. I am going to be healthy with my diet.


-For excersise i will do some in my room, such as jumping jacks, push-ups, sit ups, and stretches. I do not have a bike and don't really need one considering all my friends are older and pick me up when i want to go somewhere. But i will do excersises in my room, and i have a pool which im going to swim in atleas 5 times a week. Summer is coming up so i will probally swim more and be more active.

-My goal is achieving a healthier life, losing wieght and feeling good about my self. Next year i am going into highschool not chubby but healthy and trim. Please i need you guys to help me by telling me if my ideas are right or if they are wrong. And add anything else if you can. thank you so much to anymore that helps i will really apprieciate it. :)




Please help me. Im tired of being the "fat kid" and i am actually doing it this time. Not going to lie to myself anymore. :cool:

What you've said sounds good, you seem to be cutting out the 'bad' foods from your diet and increasing the amount of fruit you plan to eat. The incorporation of exercise is good too ofc :)

My one tip to you would not to try and rush things; be patient with your weight loss goals, sometimes you might reach them, sometimes you might not. Also, make sure that you don't just throw yourself into hard exercise, build up gently.

Kudos to you for making a plan, good luck with it all :)

hey man thats a good think to do i mean thats awesome that u have the self discipline to do that and u could also try to go for a run thats also a good one

That sounds great! I might use that as a workout plan myself. Definitely don't rush into it.

yah dude start off slow and take it easy slowly work your way up. stay if a comfortable range like dont push ur self too hard, but just get out there and exercise every day and you will be in shape in no time

Wait wait, it might be dangerous to change your diet so drastically, ty to ask an doctor/nurse, first. Otherwise, good luck =].

Remember, being healthy doesn't include starving yourself. As long as the food is healthy, and your exercise normally, you'll be fine. If your hungry, EAT! Just make smart decisions on what to eat. Also, maybe jogging a mile could help. I do 100 pushups in the morning and jog in gym a mile a day.

Ok its good that you seem determined, good motivation is bound to help you meet your goals.

The best way to lose weight is by a calorie controlled diet, that way you will lose weight at a steady rate, and the loss is sustained, (you wont just pile it back on) Crash diets, like the Atkins diet etc, do make you lose weight fast but often at an unhealthy rate and should be avoided.

As for your diet changes- Be careful switching to fruit juices, they can be high in sugars/ empty calories, read the labels on the cartons/ packets and try to find the best option for you.

As with food, again as a general rule stay away from the processed / junk food, it is often high in saturated fat / sugar / empty calories. Try to eat healthier, lean meats like chicken as opposed to pork etc fruit instead of sweets. As in between meal snacks try things like salad,soup sandwiches. Also watch your portion size of meals, to much of anything is bad.

For exercise you want to be doing cardiovascular activity, things like running, cycling, rowing, swimming are great, they will help you to tone up and burn fat. Other activities that are good are skipping, climbing.

Try to vary your exercise when you can, swimming 5 times a week may be a great workout but will get boring and you will lose motivation. Also be sure to weigh yourself, so you can see changes and stay motivated.

Thank you so much everyone, i have been eating healthier, drinking lots of water. And im feeling like i have more energy, School just got out so im going to start going to the ymca with my friend, and play basketball, and workout on these little what are they called? um... the bikes that don't move lol... and tredmills (spelling) and alot of stuff. I do not have a scale so i don't know how much i weigh, but the ymca has one. And im going on wendsay and ill see and however much i weigh im going down to 120 pouns.. im about 5'2 in hieght, So yay!

heres a tip :D im not sure if this was said (to lazy to read comments) but eat bannanas and like do ur workouts to prevent cramps and stuff bannanas also: keep ur digestive regular prevents cramps, fills u up and some other stuff
