Ok I have two friends that I'm really close with, the only problem is that....they're not so fond of each other. They constantly cause problems with one another and have been close to fighting before( I always break it up before it can really escalate). They both get really upset at me when they find out the I'm hanging out with the other and it's really starting to get to me. I'm really close to both of them and won't leave one for the other and think that I'm a back stabber. I even got in trouble with them at the school office and i didn't even do anything! just happened to be near both of them. I'm not sure what they had that made them hate each other but I don't want to be a part of this. Please help!!:confused:

If these people really want to be your freinds, then explain to them how you really feel, both of them, at the same time.

If they really want to be your freinds, they should be willing to tolorate eachother to be with you. If they still don't comply, then their hatred for eachother will be greater then their like or love twoards you. Now do you really want freinds that have stronger emotions for hate then for you?

What I would do is say something like, "look. im not going to be friends with either of you unless you both knock it off. You both are getting me in trouble and im sick of it"
or something like that. just lay down the law that you will not tolerate it. and if they continue, make good on your threat.

I've been in this position before, but I was one of the friends. My best friend had another best friend who I absolutely disliked. We would make each others lives miserable and my (our) best friend would always be stuck in the middle. This went on for at least a year. I had been best friends with him since we were five and the other guy came around when we started high school. One day in a one in a million posibility, the two of us happened to be stuck together, without our best friend. We realised how similar we were and soon became good friends. The three of us remained best friends.

I'm basically saying that if they're both really close to you, well there is a very high chance that they are also very similar and can be potential friends but started on the wrong foot. This may happen by itself like it did in my case but if it still goes on try to organise things that the three of you enjoy so they can get to know each other.

I hope this sort of helps and makes sense.

I swear this happens to me in every group of friends I have, mainy because it takes alot to get me pissed at someone I guess.
At the moment I've sorted it. At one point they had regular screaming matches and literally couldn;t be in the same room, and wanted me to choose between them. I refused and eventually just walked off and hung around with some of my other friends until they could at least be civil with each other. Now they are fine, dont trust each other, but are kind of friends i guess.
good luck

Oh and also if they have a go at you for hangin out with the other one just say "what do you suggest I do? Its your argument not mine, I still like *whoever*. Please sort this out, iif you care about our friendship, its destorying it" Or less dramatic if she's likely to take this the wrong way.
