Its only double the average dose. It is commonly prescribed anyways. It all depends on how your body reacts to it. If you can handle 40 mg, and not get upset stomache or w/e, fine. I would tell my doctor though.

well, i'm not on it anymore... i take a different medication because my normal doctor said that 40 miligrams of lexapro in a 16 year old girls body was a suicide attempt basically. i'm a 5 miligrams of a different kind, i mentioned it above, it's helping alot but i think it needs to get uped a bit cause i still have super harsh depression spells...
