So, here's a poem I wrote for school. Tbh, its a bit too soppy for my liking and I'm not sure quite what I think of it, but thats my English teacher and her stupid criteria sheet thingy for you (I swear, she finds the only way to take the creativity out of creative writing) :/
*sighs* If it wasn't for school, I'd have put a whole load more dischords in here, especially the beginning :(
Anyhoos, thought I might as well post :P

Memories & Melodies

Sometimes I wish my life were like a beautiful song,
Where I could fall in love with its intoxicating beat,
And cry over its enchanting melody.

At first, all one would hear, is the simple rhythm
Of a small little drum, of a tiny heartbeat,
And the pitter-patter of misguided footsteps.

Then would begin the gentle chords of an acoustic guitar,
The sound of children dancing on tiptoes,
And long forgotten smiles.

Soon you would hear sound of soft piano keys,
Soft delicate notes of beauty and grace,
Finding a place in this world.

The music would fade before a radiant crescendo,
Of soulful violins and a rushing timpani,
A tornado of sound, a whirlwind love.

The tempo would change as the seasons passed,
And different instruments would come and go,
But the simple serenity would always remain.

As mournful melancholy cello solos, in graceful juxtaposition
With the vivacity of a flamenco dance,
All played their part in this orchestra of life.

Discord and harmony; broken chords for broken hearts,
From the intriguing quiet to the tremendous volume,
Of a million emotions and words left unspoken.

Eventually the time would come, after all had played their part,
The last harp string is played, haunting yet breathtaking -
A heart breaking silence.

Yet if one were to listen closely, it needn’t be the end of the song,
For in the silence there would be tranquillity,
And, just maybe, the echo of a piccolo travelling on the wind…

I like it, but try and cut out more of those unnecessary words, if you know what i mean.

I agree it is a bit soppy, but directions are directions....:(

You're a good poet!
