Doosh bag. (the misspelling is on purpose...)

My dad is making my little sister (9) and me do homework over our summer break. This would be fine if my sister knew how to do the material. But, of course, she doesn't so I have to teach her. My sister does not -- I repeat -- DOES NOT like me. She DOES NOT like learning from me. She says to me "I don't understand it because you don't tell it like a teacher does" WELL NEWS FLASH I AM NOT A TEACHER! I AM A 14 YEAR OLD GIRL. A FRESHMAN IN HIGH SCHOOL. No shit I don't talk like a teacher....

I am so frustrated right now I am on the verge of tears... I've tried teaching her but she just stormed off saying I treat her like she's stupid.... I have to teach her how to do multiplication problems like 28*34 she doesn't understand and even when I show her how and tell her how she does it wrong. I also have to teach her how to do long division with remainders. THAT WAS ONE OF THE HARDEST THINGS FOR ME TO GRASP WHEN I WAS HER AGE. HOW THE FREAK DOES MY DAD EXPECT HER TO LEARN IT FROM ME???? I HAVEN'T USED REMAINDER FOR MANY YEARS! I HARDLY KNOW WHAT IT IS ANYMORE! THIS IS BULL SHIT! BULL SHIT I TELL YOU!

Does anyone here have some tips as to how to teach her this shit without her storming off "because I'm not a teacher"???????????!!!!!!!!!!?????????

I suggest you talk to your dad. Sit him down at the kitchen table and explain to him how difficult it is for you to teacher her when you, yourself, don't fully understand the material. Tell him that you don't want to be teaching her the wrong way or it'll make it really difficult for her to remember how to do it when she learns the right way in school. Just tell him that you can't do it. And if he wants her to learn it so bad, HE can teach her. You deserve to have a summer. Just try to explain it to him, the way you explained it to us.
Best of luck<3

Hve you tried talking to your dad, because if you haven't, you should.

Then it will be easier to solve the problem with his help.
