Keep badgering the doctor or go to a new one until they figure out what's wrong. You shouldn't just leave it as the unknown. Pursue it, it could be dangerous.
Try eating a bit more, drink more fluids, and sit down if you feel faint or dizzy. Ask a friend or family member to come and help you out so they can call 911 if you collapse again.

That's really odd, but honestly I would keep pursuing it, out of curiosity if nothing else. Keep drinking and eating, and keep family close by. Definitely pursue it if it happens again, and good luck!

How could you have thought you weren't going to wake up if you were unconscious?
Either way, stay hydrated, don't skip meals and try to exercise regularly.

Here is the best way I can explain it...when I faint...I am completely out of it. Completely unresponsive. I am in like in this subconcious state where i can hear or sense what goes on around me...but I am not really there. It's kind of a hard thing to explain. But it' like the world keeps moving all around you and you are just standing still......Do you have any idea what it is like not knowing if you are going to come to...to not know if your going to wake up...I know I really need to stop skipping meals.....

That isn't being unconscious.

I feel unconcious

But the fact that you know what's going on shows that you aren't unconscious.

Heidi, in order for the doctor to accurately assess and treat *whatever* caused this, he will need a lot of very important info from you, like all the stuff you've been sharing with us here at VT.
If you want him to take care of you, you need to tell him everything and let him factor all that info into his assessment. Otherwise, he's flying blind here.
Sit down with him and calmly explain your emotional distress and your behavioral responses to it.

I fainted again tonight. I think it was because I was dehydrated...in all this mess that has been going on lately I seem to have forgotten to drink much. So I am drinking lots of water now...and I am going to go to bed early tonight....

You should get your blood pressure checked, something could be up there (or down). For now, just keep hydrated, eat something light and try and keep yourself relaxed, hun.

Has the doctor already ruled out something such as hypotension, bradycardia (slow heart rate), tachycardia (high heart rate), vasovagal reaction (common in people who appear to be completely healthy), etc...? If you're not eating nor hydrating enough, then that will drastically increase your odds of fainting. Eat regularly and stay hydrated for a while, and see if the fainting persists. If not, then you probably have your answer. If it still does, then you know that there is a rather severe problem.

My dad checked my blood pressure and it was fine....he is a paramedic. The doctor has ruled out everything...he does not have a clue what may be causing it... I am trying to eat a well balanced diet and stay plenty hydrated....and we'll see if that solves it...but I really don't think that is the problem

Hm.. i know that *exact* feeling. it's not really consious or unconsious. scary as hell.
You . need. to . eat.
That's probably the only thing that's gonna fix this problem, especially if this is happening often at this point.
when this happens, after you can come out of it,... EAT SOMETHING.. It doesnt matter what. just eat. consitering everything you've said.. you prolly should also keep going to diff doctors.. because they've gotta be idiots so far if they haven't figured anything out

Go to the same doctor. Tell him everything. Don't hold back.
Continuity of care is important and you are less likely to hold information back if you are go to see 100 different doctors

It is really scary! Have you ever been afraid that you just might not come to again? I was really afraid this time that I was not going to come to....
I know...I need to eat...I think I passed out yesterday though due to dehydration...so I am drinking more now...I didn't really realize that I had not been drinking enough fluids....I have just been so stressed I didn't realize it.

If you are currently having problems which means you are forgetting to drink, then really, I wouldn't worry at all. If you don't drink then it is you're own fualt if you faint, because you are dehydrated. You MUST find the time to eat and drink. Have 3 meals during the day, and have a big glass of juice/water with the meal. Continue to sip water after the meals too.
If you carry on fainting even though you are eating and drinking what you usually have, then go back to you're doctor and ask for a blood test. Often people faint if they have anemia. A blood test can rule out if you have this or not, and if you don't, you're doctor will be able to (hopefully) think of something else that may be wrong. However, I really wouldn't be worried about this though. It could be you not eating and drinking enough, and i'm guessing it is that.
Just to tell you where i'm getting all of this from. I'm like you. I used to have fits when I was younger, but i soon started to grow out of them. However, I often feel faint. I do faint sometimes, and i'm a very pale person. I need to drink lots and eat often. I get the same symptoms as anemia, but yet I get some of the same symptoms as diabetes, when my sugar level goes low.
Keep us updated.

It may not be the problem, you're right. However, if that can be reasonably ruled out, then it leaves fewer variables for the doctors to deal with. Then again, as you say, it may indeed solve it. Try it, who knows, there's no harm in doing so.

I just was checked for anemia at the doctor not too long ago...and I don't have that. I don't have diabetes but I seem to get some of the symptoms of that ( the low blood sugar) so far I haven't fainted in...I think five days...I have been dizzy though...probably due to a lack of eating...so my best bet is to try and eat more...which is just really hard for me to do right now...not because I don't have time...but because I just don't feel like I can eat...due to stress as well as the grief...

sorry that this is kind of late, but i have problems passing out, and it runs in my family. And something that keeps me verticle is like gatorade or powerade, but not the zero stuff, the normal stuff. you might have low blood sugar. but if you feel really dizzy, i would recommend trying an orange juice to see if your blood sugar that is causeing this... it really shoots blood sugar up
