k, so, i'm 15, 5'11 and i weigh around 160 lbs.
my mom's giving me a lot of grief about it, and i need some tips on losing a bit of weight and toning myself.
i don't have access to a gym, and i hate sports of all kinds, except volleyball and swimming. all i have is a bike, my body, and the city. :P
anyone have any tips? :}
it'd be awesome to hear success stories too.
i feel humungous. i know i'm not, but my mom makes me feel like i am. it's a little depressing, especially since it's mostly girls who go through this stuff.

First of all, there are many people of both sexes that go through what you're dealing with, so no worries.
You might want to try riding your bike more, I mean like long bike rides. Go riding for several miles every few days. you don't have to ride all the miles at once, just ride as much as you can, then rest and repeat.
You can also try swimming more. Just do any form of exercise for a decent amount of time. You'll slowly burn calories, and little by little you will hopefully see some improvement.

ahah thanks guys.
would i be able to drop pounds, though?
anyone have any estimates on how many pounds i could drop per week, maybe?
i'm also going to try and eat a bit healthier, even though it's not like i eat unhealthy now. but whatever. no more cookies. ;P

My 13 year old friend, who is in football, weighs this much, and is totally healthy.

that's because his weight is muscle.
i'm not muscular at all.
i assume my height and bones make up a lot of my weight, but whatever is left over is caused by fat. so i need to burn it all off :)

Well, the amount of pounds you loose per week depends on how hard you work at it. I would say, on average, 1-5 pounds every 2 weeks. Could be more, but once again depends on how hard you work at it. Eating healthier will definately help.
Also, it would help if you told us your height. Then it would be alot easier to determine how much overweight you are.

Oh, sorry didn't see that. I can get a clear picture of what you look like. Yeah I would say you could loose a decent amount of weight in 2 weeks if you really tried. But it will be several weeks before you really notice the change.

5'11 and 160 pounds doesnt sound horribly overweight...you'd probably be fine as you are seeing as most people get a teensy bit overweight once they get a decade or two into adulthood...
anyway, if you wanted to lose weight just do what the previous posts have said; just get more exercise in your free time and eat fruit instead of junk food for your snacks.

dude, youre not big at all. i'm 5'11 too and weigh 130 (skinny little guy) and my doc says that 160 is the most ideal weight for my height. If u want to tone up, i'd say buy and Iron Gym. you can look it up on google or something. basically, eat some salad and portion control your meals and i'd say at the MOST drop 10 pounds. if u drop 5 pounds, which i recommend, then use the Iron Gym and you'll be fit before u know it

Im was in the same sorta position as you are just now a month and a bit ago. So, i decided to loose some weight over the summer hols. You said you wanted to hear a success story and I have gotten slimmer, and all i have done is go jogging twice or three times a week and just eating what i usually do but not in excess. However, you might find that you are putting weight on if you go jogging or biking or swimming because you will be building muscle mass, which is what has happened to me as well :L. So, if you go jogging/swimming/biking and just don't eat in excess(not saying that you do) then you should see some results within a fortnight to three weeks.
p.s. Take a friend with you because it is good to work with a mate because he can offer you encouragement and vice-versa.
Hope this helps.
