What do you prefer to do to make up your grade, do coursework or sit exams? And to people who don't know what coursework is, it's essential homework/essays/whatever for your grades.
Here in the UK, and probably other countries, we use a coursework and exam system for our final grades at GCSE, A-Level and most College and University courses.
I prefer Coursework.
Why? Because, to me, it has more pro's than sitting exams.
* Less stress
* More time to demonstrate knowledge on a particular subject/module.
* In exams, you can have bad days, whereas with coursework you still have plenty of time.
The only cons in coursework, is that people can cheat in it, and teachers can lose it. But I think coursework can be done right in proper moderation. I'm pissed off that some politicians want to abolish it.

Coursework for me.
You have more time to do it, tends to be better for me as well quality wise because you do it whilst you're learning about the subject and you don't have to revise for it (I hate revision of any sort lol)

COURSEWORK
in real life 9/10 you sit and you finalise plans ideas etc. with the help of others, this is how course work is done.
Exams you cram and memories thing but you have the memory of a fish and you sit there and think o B***ks.
therefore i am all for course work :D

Usually coursework. I do fine on exams, however, if you cock up an exam, then that course may need a re-do or just a horrible grade to look at. With coursework, if you cock up an essay, then that can lower the mark but there are numerous other things to make up for it. So to me, it boils down to probability.

DEFINETELY coursework, this is where most of my grade comes from , they test your ability, and your ability to use external sources which will always be avaliable in the real world. I've always thought exams aren't really about your ability, lots of the time they are about the amount of revision you can be bothered to do, the capacity of your memory and just pure luck on what questions come up.
Generally i just wing exams and make up my grades with coursework- so much easier! And it makes you panic less about the exam, for exmaple with my tech exam, I got A* in my coursework, which was 60% of the overall grade, so i could of written nothing on my exam paper and still passed. Way better and less stress!

If you were to fail (let me use the epic fail grade as an example - a U as you said "written nothing") that 40% of the exam, you do know it would bring down your grade quite a bit? To a low C at the most.
It works both ways. Forward and backwards. ;)
And yeah. Exams. How relevant. I'm currently doing my final GCSE exams, I've got one more to go then it's summer for me. xD
Although I feel I flunked my first History exam. S: Damn it was hard.
I'm aiming for four B's, two C's and a D. Hopefully it's what I'm getting when August comes around.

Coursework. I like having the knowledge that my grade doesn't rest on one test, or maybe 2-3 if I'm lucky.
