Alright guys. This has really been a big problem with me lately, regarding homework. I think I've subconciously convinced myself that I don't give a shit.

How can I get motivated to do homework? I've gotten away with being late for things so many times in the past and even survived missing large projects entirely, but I don't want to do that anymore. It's just... Every time I tell myself that I'm going to get something done today, I think about it, and get an anxious feeling in my stomach, and go back to procrastinating. What can I do?

Note: A lot of my homework also happens to require the use of a computer and the internet, which... are unfortunately my greatest distractions.

Ah, story of my life.

I'm still not all that motivated to do my work, and even when I do my work, it's taking twice as long as it should, why? Because I let myself indulge, if I feel the need to play a flash game, then I'll play it, but only one level, then get back to work. Have you ever tried having music playing while you work? Or having a comedian playing in the background? Both of these things help me get my work done, by occupying my mind with the music/comedy, I can concentrate better on my work.

Also, you could try talking to your teachers about it, asking them if they could not be so lenient about your work. So you actually have consequences for not doing your work.

I get that feeling you talked about as well.

I have found that if you work on some things well, you can just blow off other stuff. So for a modiavtor, think, I will work hard on this, and then tommaorw I don't have to do anything! It is acctually a pretty secure safty net, I have been doing it since the begining of my freshman year, it's allready over and I never failed a class.:P I used to try other things to get me motivated, but all they did is make my body less willing to do it, and I failed. It wasn't until I adpoted this new system that I started passing, but still able to be lazy...
