Before you listen you have to be open minded. Her music isn't really the style of today or in English but listen to her voice and feel her emotions.
She has to be one of the best singers of all time. If not for her exquisite voice but for all of the emotion and feeling she puts into her songs. You feel like what she's singing is what she's feeling and it was what she was feeling.
The song is in French so to all of the people that can not speak French the song is about forgetting everything in the past and dismissing it. The tone of the song is very defiant.
This woman went through hell in her personal life which was why her songs were so raw with emotion. She was born on the streets of Paris with not a penny to her name. She lived with her grandmother who was the madam of a brothel, was temporarily blinded for seven years, she dated abusive men, had drinking and drug problems and was from what i gather pretty unstable.
A movie about her life called "La Vie En Rose" was also made in 2007 and won an Oscar.
