The memories, they're still there.
The laughter, I still hear it.
The experiences, I still remember.
But alas, it is no more.
I can sit here reminiscing,
But the memories are just visions,
The laughter is just an echo,
The experiences are faded,
None of it is real any more.
I sit here wishing for those times to return,
But I know they won’t,
They’re gone, disolved into the past.
The poison that swept into the friendships,
Should have been sorted long before,
But I put it off, the poison wept into every single part of my mind,
It took hold of me, it ruined things, it nearly killed me.
Every day became worse and worse as my body was taken over,
I wasn’t what I used to be,
Friendships changed.
Then came the dishonesty, the lies,
They consumed what little was left,
And they brought with them hatred and violence,
Things which should have never occurred.
What was once good was then evil.
But the poison just sat there, wouldn’t move,
It sat there and dragged me down,
Dragged my friends down,
That’s all dead and buried now.
How ever much I wish those good times would come back,
I know they won’t.
However much I wish, they are gone, null and void, irrelevant.
I could keep sitting here thinking about it,
Or I could start afresh,
I just can’t decide.
Why do you have to affect me like this, memories?
