Usually, around the time you start puberty you should be able to be able to retract your foreskin. What you can do is try to pull your foreskin back as much as you can without hurting yourself and wash under it. The water and soap will slowly separate the membrane which is holding the foreskin to the head. The reason why your foreskin is attached to your head until puberty is to keep the head clean and to prevent contaminents from going into the area. The head and the foreskin will separate once you start sliding it back gradually. Give yourself a few weeks if you start retracting your foreskin daily.

If your foreskin is tight, then slide back your foreskin regularly only in this case stretch it. By doing so you are making the skin more flexible. You should do this stretching exercise regularly, but never force yourself to go beyond your limits. Ideally, you can do the stretching exercise nightly, but the best place to do so is in a warm shower since water makes stretching easier by keeping your skin moist. Once your foreskin starts sliding back, then you should start washing under it. The ways you can stretch your foreskin are stretching it back, to the sides, or towards the front, but never force your foreskin beyond its limits as you don't want to get it stuck behind your head.

Finally, if you are having no progress at all with your foreskin, then there is no shame to get help. Many times guys just need a prescription strength steroid ointment to be applied to the area, and things end up being fine. Tight foreskins are quite common, and seeking medical attention is not going to be embarrassing at all.

My foreskin was never attatched to my head, and never had any problems with it. Its not a huge foreskin and doesn't usually cover my whole head unless my cock is cold and in stealth mode.

Is it common for guys to have it attached before puberty, I'd be interested to know?
