I havn't had my period in almost 3 months, it's really weird. I've never had sex of any kind and I'm confused and a little scared. What;s going on?

Well, depending on how much you weigh, and how long you have been getting your period, it can be irregular.

Your menstrual cycle can take up to a few years to really regulate itself. You might get a heavy period one month, skip a month or two, then a light one. That's perfectly normal. Also, you might not have a normal 28 day cycle. It might be less than that also.

Also, be warned, if you have dropped down to a dangerously low weight recently, that would cause your period to stop.

You are most likely normal, but if you really want to be on the safe side, then you could always see your doctor.

thanks. It's normal for me to skip ONE month but 3 seemed strange. It's been a little over a year since my first one. As far is weight I'm healthy I'd say. I'm 5ft 5in. and about 105 lbs.

My best friend has one period every 3 months. It depends on your body. You have stated that you only been having it a little over a year, it takes two years for your body to become regular. Period cycles usually range from 25 days - 32 days. However, there are exceptions.

Antibiotics, extreme weight gain/loss, stress, illness and infections can also lead to a messed up period cycle. Also a change in diet and excerise can affect it. I agree with AutumnDae mainly.

Depends how long ago you started I guess cos it takes a bit to settle down. I have had my period for about 3 years and have skipped up to six months during that time - that might just be me though, I'm not sure. Not very helpful, sorry

3 months is a long time...

You might want to see a doctor if you're worried. Never hurts too.

Or you could wait more, see if it'll straighten out. Whatever works for you
