People who bully Cutters

I'm one of them. I allways joke about the idea and with my freinds about it. But I have never attacked somebody directly that does cut themselves.

But today.

things got a bit too hot.

So today at lunch, my freinds were all gone on their EOC's or just absent, so I had to hang out with my backup-freinds. (one of them I hate; carl, but he hangs out with my backup-freinds so I kind of have to hang with him too.)

So were just sitting there. Then this girl sat right next to me. I knew her from my art class. I knew she was a cutter and she was wearing some long sleeved stuff today. Well, she must have not been thinking to well cause she kind of folded them up where people could see the scars, (I guess to eat, IDK). How lucky, Carl notices, and the games being.

He instigated and rallyed up all of my backups and they hudled around her. I was just stuck there.

They first pointed out the scars and started picking on her a little bit with some names. Then they began to make rude, (and untrue) comments about her being ugly and whatnot.
This progressed for about five minutes. Then the girl started saying protests that soft voice of hers. She just asked them to stop so she could eat. That just got them even more exicted and they starting using even harsher comments. I began to notice in her eyes, she was starting to lose it. She tried to pick up her voice and kept begging them to stop.
Then, Carl did something that I will never forget.

He grabbed some sissors out of his backpack, and slammed them in front of her. He wisperd to her "Why don't you just end yourself , you ugly ass bitch?" in a very serious tone, I knew that he wasn't just playing about that.
Some of the more aggresive ones went like "OOOOHHH!", but the others kind of backed down from there.

I have never seen someone so petrifed in my life. She like broke down and cried. She stormed out of the lunchroom, a mess and in tears.


At first, I couldn't belive it. But as time when on, I became angry at myself. Carl is a penishead, and allways will be. But I feel responsible. I should have said something, I could have said something, I could have done something. But I didn't.


I feel horrid right now.

What should I do?

That's horrible. That Carl guy, frankly, can go fuck himself. If someone would have said things like that to someone in front of me I would have beat the living hell out of them (and I'm 5'8''/9'' and weight 120 lbs).

You should promptly speak to the girl from your art class and tell her you're sorry for what happened and sorry that you didn't intervene to put an end to the bullying.

Ok, it doesn't seem like the best thing to do, but I'm going to tell you what I would do.

The next day I would confront "carl" and if he didn't immediately apologize, I would rock him right there in front of everyone, then try to embarass him so he knows how it feels. I would also talk to that girl, and tell her he's a dick and his opinion doesn't matter to anyone.

Honestly, if I ever saw someone do that, I would have decked them by then, the picking on even, its unacceptable. When ever someone makes a cutting comment and makes fun of it, I confront them directly. What you should do, is try to talk to the girl. Not, awkwardly, just let her know that you know its fucked up that they did that. Also, if you see it again, stand up and have a voice for once. I mean really, ever heard the phrase:

"Those who watch bullying and do nothing are just as bad as the bullies themselves."

I would have pounded the living daylights out of the guy!! You should go and talk to the girl and say ur sorry and you feel bad for not saying anything. And do it where not everybody is going to hear you so she doesn't get even more embaressed and make sure she knows she is wanted alive...not dead. You never know how litteral someone is going to take things. It doesn't take much for someone on the edge to do something drastic. Hope everything works out. Stop hanging out with them

ok, frankly, i would have dropped the guy right then and there.
And oddly, we just talked about being a "bystander" at school. It's where you are there and see something happening, but you don't do anything. You could be the one to save a person's life, but you just let whatever happen.
And I agree with everyone who has given advice before me. Tell that guy he's fucked up, and tell that girl he's a dick and that she shouldn't end her life right then and there, to continue livign and try to stop cutting.

So the girl was in my art class today, (thank goodness!). As soon as I went over to sit next to her, she got up and left in a panicky way. She had avoided me all day. I finally got to talk to her at the very end of school at the bus stop.

I pretty much told her that I felt bad that I didn't do anything about what happened on Monday. I told her how I felt about the siguation and how I really feel about Carl.

She just looked at me for a few seconds and said, "Oh". I tried to talk to her some more, but she said her bus was about to leave, said bye. and she just walked off.

Did she forgive me or still hate me?:confused:

Give her time, she's been badly bullied and probably feeling very insecure and very scared right now. But as said, if you really feel bad, fight back against bullying and stop your ways. It's possible, and I think a bully is bullying because of an underlying problem, so perhaps you need to take a look at why you bully and find the root cause > then try and stop the behavior, with support if need be.

Poor girl... I know how that feels... it's extremely distressing. Keep being there for her though, and maybe next time, stick up for her perhaps?

I agree, even though you got your ass kicked (wich maby taught you a little bit of a lesson) that you got your point across to carl that someone is going to stand up against his bullying, and even though you didnt stop carl the first time at least now your trying to do somthing. Okay, so I was advised to tell the story since many people reading this think I like swung in at random and just challenged the guy to mortal combat or something, here is the mis-adventured story.

I was going to Subway last Saturday to get a bite to eat. On the way there to the Video place, I crossed paths with the dreaded Carl. He attempted to be suppish with me, (Still thinking I was one of his numerous *female dogs*).
Almost immedalty I reminded him about the incident and told him how I really felt about the whole agenda.

At first, he was laughing, thinking I was just trying to ammuse him. After a while I got it across to him that I was being serious.

Then he started to think and treat me like and infidel! He starting acting and asking me if I was a cutter. Some harmful things got tossed around, and he said in quote - "You and that bitch have fun cutting eachother kay?", followed by him pushing me, me almost lossing my balace. This and that happened, things got heated, and some very vulger insults got tossed.

All in all, I just gave up diplomacy and socked him a good justice punch right in the face.

I greatly underestimated Carl's strenght and brutality.

His steel fists came raining like missles! One punch after another at my helpless and soft body. The mighty blows tossed me to the ground, face first. I saw him rub his nose, and stare in shock at the crimson liquid that leaked from his nostral. Some more insults, and mighty Carl picked me up and threw my weakend body into a nearby ditch. My clueless blind body flailed as I landed in the dirty mud.

He started kicking me hard all around my body, ribs, face, balls, the works...

I somehow managed to collect myself and get up. I got a few punches at his face and ribs. But his counter-measures were stronger then mine,(more punches from him) and I felt my legs getting weak and my head dizzy again. At a final stand, I kicked him will all my remaing strenght in the leg.

Now I don't know if it was the stance he was in or something, but his leg sorda snapped and moved in ways it is not suppose to. He crouched to the ground, grabing his wounded and bent akwardly leg, screaming in pain.

I noticed some adults over by the incident, and I desided to make a run for it.

I think some people have had some mis-understandings.

1.) I apologized to the girl long before this incident. I don't know if she accepted it, but I made sure that she knew what I thought about it really.
2.) The reason I say cutter is because there is no other way to catagorize people who cut themselves as a whole without causing a disturbance. I can't say emo, or goth, or anything else, so cutter is all that is left. It's like a person who runs is called a runner, and a person who fights is called a fighter.
3.) Now that I read the wording, I can see how it seems like it means that because he was calling a cutter, that he was calling me an infidel. What I meant to show was that he was treating my like an Infidel, and a cutter. Not cutter = Infidel. If you can grasp that.

I am trying to stop bullying them, but getting called a "loser,bad person" from them is not much of a help for me to stop picking on them, if you can feel what I am comming from.

making fun of something isn't wrong as long as it stays just a joke, but the behaviour of Carl was just sick!
Good thing you showed him your opinion, but the outcome could have been better. Well, you did your best.

As for the girl, you'v already let her know you care, but i think you could do more. First, youre unsure about if she accepted the apology, well, you should try and find out if she did. Also, stop any teasing that you still do, if you do, cause the teasing/bullying doesn't help at all.

i have to say some people are being rather harsh towards you. You got dragged into that situation and your not proud of it. In my opinion it doesn't entirely matter about standing up to the bully. Although you did try and that should be respected (even if it wasn't in the best way :S ) You, yourself know that what happened was wrong, that's the most important thing.

You also tried to say sorry to the girl, which was lovely even though she won't see it that way. The best way to solve this probelm is to go to a poilceman or a teacher, they can solve this whole matter much better and more quickly. hope that helped.
