Yes, every ones metabolism is different. Your metabolism is how fast you burn the stuff you get from food.

Well, yes
Some people have slower metabolisims, some people are *naturally* heavier than others, and then of course it is easy to overeat and not realize it.

Yeah, Check your out your family. Slow metabolism might be in your genes.
But hey, a lot of guys like it that way! :)

Overweight/obese people tend to have a slower metabolism. Get your thyroid checked. If it's underactive, medications can help control this. If not, you're like the other half of this world and have a slower metabolism and gain weight easier/lose weight harder.

Okay, having Metabolism the main topic of the discussion, I'd like to pose a question. Is it possible for your metabolism to slow down/speed up as you age? Because I used to be overweight, and recently I've had a MASSIVE drop in weight (I went from 145 lbs. to 124 lbs in about a month). I lost like 5 lbs in 4 days last week. It was exciting, but I don't know how in the world I lost that weight. I wasn't doing anything for those 4 days. at all.

Yes, that is possible, though it's usually more common for it to slow down.

You are only 14, though. You're still growing, and may have had a growth spurt, which may have helped your weight loss. Usually, it slows down when you enter adulthood though.

If you have a slow metabolism, and you eat the same amount as people with regular/fast metabolism, then you are over eating, and that is the reason you are gaining weight.
Since your body (may) burn of calories slower, you don't need as much, which means you don't need to eat as much. Eating the same as friends or family that are more active or were born with a faster metabolism explains weight gain.

I am not growing any more. I've been the same height for 3 years.... no growth spurt for me..............

Still, you've entered puberty. It's different for everyone.
