Someone told me that there's a difference the between "The Pill" and the "Morning after Pill." Is that true?

Regular birth-control pills are taken daily.
Morning-After Pills...well, they're kinda self-explainitory.

The morning after pill is also referred to as emergency contraception. It's to be taken like within 72 hours of having sex and it's basically a high dose birth control pill that's supposed to prevent pregnancy (if taken within that 72 hour period) and obviously it's not 100% some of the side effect of that are nausea, vomiting, infertility, breast tenderness, ectopic pregnancy (can be life threatening), and blood clot formation.
I'm assuming you know what the pill is but some side effects (not common in most women) are bleeding between periods, weight gain, nausea, breast tenderness, headaches, mood changes (mood swings), and blood clots (which I've read usually occur only in women over 30-35 who smoke)
I hope that helps :)

in england, for the morning after pill u have to go to a pharmisist or doctors and answer a series of questions, it costs £24, but it is free from the doctors
the pill is taken daily, its the most effective form of contraception, except does not prevent STD's
the doctor checks you every three months to see if you are on the right perscription
(no im not a girl, my gf is on the pill, and before that we had a couple of inidents where we needed the morning after pill)
