Nearly all day my throat has been sore, I know this sounds silly but when I was eating this afternoon something seemed to have gotten stuck and is still there, so every time I eat something it hurts as well as when I'm not eating. I don't really think that's what happened but that's what it feels like.

I had the exact same problem. Mine turned out to be nothing more than infection of some sort. See a GP and get anti biotics.
