What is the real benefit to being circumsized?

I think that being cut is better because...
1. It reduces the possibility of nasty/dangerous infections growing under your foreskin.
2. Studies have shown that they circumsised people have a lower chance of getting HIV/AIDS
3. It looks a little more...idk imo better...IMO (depending on the circ.)
4. Prevents the smegma build up and the smells that could develop.
5. It is common. Some poeple like to stick with the norm, if thats you then circ is becoming more normal

I'm uncut and I enjoy being uncut so I will give my list of why I enjoy uncut:

1. It provides greater sensitivity.
2. Provides a sexual stimulation like that of a mouth as such.
3. For me personally it makes me feel kinda proud when I'm standing up and show off to myself (heh) by pulling my foreskin back. There is something very primal and exciting in that.
4. It can be just as clean or even cleaner then cut people.
5. Last but definitely not least it heaps very much to lubricate the penis much easier.

Feel free to add to the list guys. I still love cut guys it's definitely hot. But I'm just saying my personal view of how I see why I love uncut guys and myself :)

Some people think it looks better.

Parents usually get it done because its cleaner, also foreskin can cause problems in later life (such as not being able to pull it back) so some parents just get it done at birth so it gets it out of the way.

Theres reasons to get it done in later life as well, such as not being able to pull it back and therefore becomes a problem (not always a problem) also some religions do it when your like a baby or when your just about to enter your teens.

Well, i dont know the benefits of being cut, but i know for being uncut- by having foreskin, you have greater glans stimulation so you can ejaculate earlier than being cut

Most of what you hear about 'sensitivity' is bogus. Appearance is personal, most tend to like what they've got. Girls who have successfully completed puberty have enough depth to appreciate either, since it's the guy the penis is attached to that matters most to them.

Recent studies have indicated that circumcised men have a lower rate of HIV infection, but no lower than men who are not promiscious or use a condom!

It takes moments to clean under a foreskin, and the hygiene results are the same.

The only 'benefit' to circumcision is that it is largely preventative, it avoids the 'tightness' issue which is common (about 50% of all 15 y/o's), it prevents any future problems throughout life (phimosis, paraphimosis, etc.), and it eliminates a source of possible infection and the odor build up that naturally occurs throughout the day before washing.

However, the medical culture in the US seems to be changing away from 'Preventative' care, so the overall circumcision rates are dropping and parents also question the wisdom of some 'routine' medical procedures, like circ.

I dont believe there is any benefit whatsoever. The reason its so common in some countries is just habit, blindly doing whats expected for no reason whatsoever.

Obviously for some people its a demand of their religion.

And personally I find uncut guys much, much hotter. It amuses me greatly when people say it looks more natural cut, when quite obviously and indesputibly the natural thing is to be uncut.

Sorry. Dont understand. What benefit is that then. There is no benefit. To say that you should cut all penises because a tiny minority of guys get a problem with tightness is like saying that we should all have our appendix removed at birth so we cant get appendicitus. Come to think of it we should all be castrated so we cant get testicular cancer.

To suggest that all boys and men in the rest of the world are dirty smegheads, which is the usual argument, is both ridiculous and offensive.

Umm, in the US at least, it is most common. Something like 3 in 4.

Other places (Europe particularly) its not.

Sorry, thats not true.

I think you seriously need to look into this a big more, cut or uncut it makes not one difference in the decision of a person liking cut or uncut its your bf/gf's decision. There are no stereotypes.

Please next time, find proof to back up why reason 1, 4 and 5 are not correct.

Francis you seem to be basing your answers on what might me true in the US and Canada, that does not make it true for the rest of the world.

The number of countries where it is the norm to be circumcised must be a very small minority. To the best of my knowledge China is not amongst the countries where circumcision is normal, this makes it extremely unlikely that cut is more common than uncut.

I suspect most girls dont care all that much, its us guys that are very defensive about what we've got. But again, across the world as a whole uncut is the norm and the natural condition and your suggestion that girls dont like the look of it is ridiculous.

I'm not sure that I agree with all of iJoel's 5 points but it is generally ackowledged that cut penises become de-sensitised around the glans because the foreskin protects this from rubbing against your clothes when its not it use as it were, so his point number 1 is in fact correct. His point number 4 is also correct, I really dont know why you cut guys are so keen to label uncut as dirty.

I'm not uncut but its better for intercourse, your foreskin doesnt rub up and down. and it probably feels a hella of a lot better. But for jacking off, you don't have that foreskin so its less friction i think? Haha. I wish i was cut. :/
